A browser fingerprinting is a set of information related to user's device from the hardware to the operating system to the browser and its configuration. Browser Fingerprinting refers to the process of collecting information through a web server to build a fingerprint of a device.


 In simple words when you use a browser to access the internet, it leaves a digital fingerprint, and just like an actual fingerprint, it can be used to identify you. Via a simple script running inside a browser, a server can collect a wide variety of information from public interfaces called API's and HTTP Headers. Some API's require a permission to be accessed like microphone, cameras, most of them are freely accessible from any JavaScript rendering the information collection trivial.
